What’s the difference between an Independent Contractor and a Temporary Employee?

Temporary Employees receive a W2 tax form and work as if they are one of your full-time employees but with a temporary contract. We manage and pay for their social security, medicare, workers comp, employee taxes, and offer healthcare benefits — saving you the headache of dealing with these deductions, so you can focus on what really matters.

Independent Contractors (ICs) are true freelancers who receive a 1099 tax form. ICs are not supervised by a boss and can work how, when, and where they want without day-to-day direction. Freelancers often own their own businesses and work on projects for multiple clients. ICs do not require additional benefits that W2 employees require, so the cost is lower.
